When I began learning Butoh (a form of Japanese dance theatre), I struggled to fully embrace the unconventional movement and expression required for the dance form. It can be intimidating to let go and be vulnerable. However, I found the workshops to be incredibly rewarding, especially with the guidance of experienced artists and passionate dancers. Working alongside a diverse group of individuals allowed me to learn from their perspectives and make new connections. Gateway represents the act of facing fear and embracing adventure by taking the first step.
